ASPIRE

What is ASPIRE?

The overarching outcome of the ASPIRE Adaptive Social Protection (ASP) training services will be to enable Social Protection (SP) stakeholders in the target countries to make better use of climate & livelihoods information to support SP decision making that builds livelihoods resilient to drought, flood and other climate shocks. Implementation of the training will have general applicability across the Sahel & ECOWAS SP communities and help ensure sustainability of the wider project activities.

Programme Structure

The key learning outcomes of this training will be:

  • Awareness of the nature of monitoring and forecasting and the role and activities of NMS among SP stakeholders.
  • Improved understanding of the possibilities, uncertainties and practical relevance of climate information.
  • Knowledge of how SP can make best use of climate information with examples taken from the specific SP programmes implemented at national level and potential triggers for interventions.
