Biography

picture of Conway.Declan Conway’s research cuts across water, climate and society. He has current interests in behavioural and psychological approaches to water security and adaptation. Declan draws on insights from different disciplines to pursue problem focused research. He has over 25 years of experience working in the UK/Europe, sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. Declan is jointly leading BASIN (Behavioural Adaptation for water Security and INclusion), which aims to synthesise, assess and test the application potential of behavioural and psychological science perspectives for adaptation to enhance water security for the most vulnerable. BASIN is working in Burkina Faso, Malawi and Tanzania in a transdisciplinary partnership with three other universities, three NGOs and a knowledge broker.
