On 13 and 14 June we joined with colleagues from across the UK in the Met Office Academic Partnership Super Rap ‘UK Food Security and Climate Extremes’. This 2-day workshop, held at the Henley Business School Greenlands campus, brought together expertise from across UK and international climate, agriculture and food policy research and practice.
The aim was to consider knowledge gaps and research priorities for effective climate adaptation and resilience in the UK food system, avoiding negative consequences.
Social policy researchers contributed insights into some of the broader aspects of climate adapted food policy, including food access and the affordability of a ‘healthy’ diet.
The meeting had a practical focus: Who needs to act, how and when?
