The Himalayan University Consortium (HUC) has been fostering collaboration in research, education, and capacity building across the Hindu Kush Himalaya and beyond. This video captures HUC’s journey in bridging knowledge gaps, strengthening academic networks, and empowering future generations to address pressing environmental and development challenges in mountain regions.

The Walker Institute at the University of Reading is actively collaborating with the Himalayan University Consortium (HUC) to address climate resilience and sustainable development in the Himalayan region. This partnership is part of the “My Climate Risk” initiative, which aims to build regional capacity, enhance climate risk management and promote global mobility and exchange of early-mid career scholarship.

The collaboration involves interdisciplinary research, capacity-building programs, and knowledge exchange to support climate-resilient societies. The Walker Institute and HUC work together on various projects, including climate modelling, impact assessments, and developing strategies for adaptation and mitigation.

It’s an exciting partnership that leverages the interdisciplinary strengths of both organizations to tackle some of the most pressing environmental challenges surrounding sustainable mountain development in the Hindu Kush Himalaya.
