Lynn De Miranda
Impact and Engagement Lead
Biography
Lynn de Miranda is the Impact and Engagement Lead at The Pearl (formally The Walker Institute), working on the communication strategies for several projects focusing on real-world adaptation projects in the Africa and the Middle East. She facilitates the translation of multidisciplinary research into global and local impacts, using her communications expertise to help engage with local communities, decision makers and other stakeholders on the project progress and outcomes. Lynn is passionate about making research accessible and optimise its delivery in a way that drives policy action and leads to meaningful, locally-led adaptation for those that are most vulnerable to climate and environmental changes. While serving for The Pearl, Lynn is also conducting a PhD in Biological Sciences at the University of Reading, having successfully progressed to the final stages of the program (completion expected late 2026). In her research she utilizes her experience in wet and dry lab work to gather data on the toxicity of plastic polymers and the health and environmental risk of plastic pollution.
